VP Harris’s Team Caught Spreading Misinformation About Her COVID-19 Status
Recently, while Texas tried to pass stricter voting laws, state Democrats opted to flee the state and visit their stronghold in Washington, D.C. It should come as no surprise that Democrats would fight voter reform after what happened during the 2020 election. Releasing a picture of state Democrats on a plane, it should be noted that not a single member was wearing a mask. And as if some cruel joke, three of the Democrats tested positive for COVID-19 after meeting top officials like Vice President Kamala Harris. With many wondering about the state of Harris’s health, White House spokesperson Symone Sanders was caught spreading misinformation about the Vice President’s coronavirus test.
Giving a White House press briefing on Monday, Press Secretary Jen Psaki relayed information from the Vice President’s office that Harris had been tested for COVID-19 and there was no detection.“I think the Vice President’s Office put out that she was tested, and that she did — there was no detection of COVID-19.”
It’s interesting that Psaki would claim Harris tested negative when Saturday night, Sanders released a statement saying Harris and her staff “do not need to be tested.” This is shocking especially when Harris and her team met with the Texas Democrats a few days earlier on Tuesday.
Sander’s statement reads, “On Tuesday, July 13th, Vice President Harris met with members of the Texas state legislature who are temporarily in Washington, D.C. Earlier today, it was brought to our attention that two of the members at that meeting tested positive for COVID-19. Based on the timeline of these positive tests, it was determined the Vice President and her staff present at the meeting were not at risk of exposure because they were not in close contact with those who tested positive and therefore do not need to be tested or quarantined. The Vice President and her staff are fully vaccinated.”
Even when the press questioned Sanders about the conflicting reports, she gawked, “the vice president is tested regularly as is her staff and that as a part of that regular testing, she was tested this weekend and Covid-19 was not detected.” She was also sure to add, “That is not in conflict with the statement we put out Saturday.”
While Sander’s statement shows that she deliberately misled the press about Harris’s health, the vice president’s office still refuses to clear the air and answer any questions about her health and if she met with President Joe Biden on Monday.
