Hollywood Celebrity Jackie Chan Proudly Declares ‘I Want to Be a Chinese Communist Party Member’

Jackie Chan has long been one of Hong Kong’s most visible and renowned propagandists for the mainland’s ruling Communist Party, but he recently pushed his public support for the Chinese government to a new level.

At a symposium held by the China Film Association to “study and implement the spirit” of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s keynote speech, Chan expressed his appreciation for the Party.

“Abroad they often say, ‘proud to be Chinese.’ I’m very lucky to be a Chinese person, but I also am very jealous that you all are Party members. I just think the Chinese Communist Party is really so magnificent,” according to camera footage from official broadcaster CCTV, he said, “What the Party says, what it promises, it doesn’t need 100 years to accomplish — it will definitely accomplish it in just a few decades. I want to be a Party member!

“I want to be a Party member!”

His announcement was greeted with thunderous applause.

Xi’s hour-long speech on July 1 marked the 100th anniversary of the Party’s founding with hard-line talk about China’s rise, including a message that the country will no longer be “bullied” by other countries and that anyone attempting to do so will “bash their heads bloody against a Great Wall of steel.”

Chan took center stage in a massive propaganda show put on by the Party earlier this month in Beijing’s 91,000-seat Bird’s Nest national stadium, well known internationally as the site of the 2008 Olympics opening ceremony.

Chan sang a section of the “Yellow River Cantata,” a classic patriotic work produced during the Second Sino-Japanese War, in the star-studded performance televised on the 1st of July by state broadcaster CCTV.

“Defend your hometown, defend the Yellow River… defend all of China!” the Hong Kong actor sang with Taiwanese singer Angela Chang and Macau tenor Liu Naiqi. Thousands of performers costumed as soldiers from the Eighth Route Army, a military unit under Communist Party direction during the late 1930s and early 1940s struggle, accompanied them.

The performance took place on the same day that dozens of individuals were jailed in his hometown of Hong Kong to prevent protests against the Party’s growing authority over the area.

Chan stated he loved the Eighth Route Army’s enthusiasm a week after the performance’s premiere at the China Film Association convention on July 8.

“Those soldiers faced down machine guns while wearing straw sandals and using single-shot pistols, and confronted their advanced weaponry with swords and spears. I think the Eight Route Army of our Communist Party is truly amazing!”

It’s no surprise that Jackie Chan is all in when it comes to the Chinese Communist Party. Honestly, we applaud his courage and decision to so boldy step forward with his views and beliefs. Unlike other cowardess Hollywood celebrities who refuse to openly admit that they’re socialist or communists.

Case in point, John Cena who recently apologized to the Chinese Communist Party in Mandarin for calling Taiwan “a country”. There is nothing new about Hollywood’s role in kowtowing to the Chinese and in due time, we’re confident that more and more celebs will start openly siding with the communist nation state over their own.
